What should you absolutely never do with hyperlordosis?! 1. Don't sit for long periods, especially in the wrong position. Try to get up every two or three hours throughout the day and do simple calisthenics, or 20-30 air squats. This will engage your leg and glute muscles and increase your energy expenditure, which will help you lose weight. You'll feel much more energetic and healthy. And please, sit correctly. Use special chairs with lumbar support or use a small pillow to keep your back straight. 2. Doing the wrong abdominal exercises. No knee raises on a machine or hanging leg raises should be done. You'll further shorten the iliopsoas, thereby further increasing your pelvic tilt. Lying on your back, lifting straight legs from the bottom up, also applies. Forget about crunches with fixed legs on a machine or full body raises from a lying position. These exercises will never build your abs, but they'll only make lower back problems worse. 3. Hyperextension exercises. Many people with lower back problems believe that if they build them up, the pain will go away. After all, the muscles will support the spine. But that's definitely not the case here, as hyperextension exercises already shorten the lumbar extensors, and building up your back with hyperextension exercises, especially if you add excessive arching at the end, can cause even more lower back problems, including a lumbar disc herniation. 4. Sleeping on your stomach. Dedicated to all those who like to sleep on their stomachs. Firstly, this is an unnatural position, which not only affects the lumbar spine, as it causes a lumbar bend, but can also cause neck problems, as the neck is twisted to one side for a long time. Even a bent leg won't help. You'll still maintain a strong arch in your lower back, plus over time you'll develop scoliosis due to the constant twisting of your torso. 5. Deadlift. Generally, this exercise should only be performed by completely healthy people with good, well-established technique. It's a dangerous exercise, especially when performed with heavy weights. I know dozens of people who have herniated lumbar discs with this exercise. With hyperlordosis, the deadlift, just like with hypertension, puts strain on the already spasmodic back muscles, which need to be relaxed and stretched, not strained. Deadlifting will further aggravate your pelvic position. 6. Any heavy lifting with a rounded back. I believe that school physical education classes should teach how to properly lift weights from the floor. Just train your body to do it correctly. 7. Perform bridges to stretch your spine. If you have hyperlordosis, bridges should never be performed—this is a surefire way to develop a herniated disc in the lumbar region. 8. Overhead pull-ups. Please, let's forget about this exercise once and for all. It's not a physiological movement, not only for our backs, but also for our shoulders and cervical spine. This exercise should never be performed, especially if you have back problems. You'll get nothing but sore shoulders and an injured spine. This position further arches your back, creating conditions for injury. 9.
