QUIET-TIZE YOUR ELECTRIC FAN! MAKE IT RUN SLOWER AND BE MORE QUIET! CHEAP EFFECTIVE METHOD!
Ever wish your electric fan would run slower and be more quiet? I will show you how in this video. Cheaply and effectively make your fan less noisy! Convert your standard electric fan to a more quiet electric fan. Modify your electric fan to be more quiet. Make your electric fan less noisy. NOTE ABOUT USING CAPACITORS INSTEAD: A number of people have commented that it is efficient to solve this problem with capacitors, as this is a more energy efficient solution. Here is the scoop: Yes, using capacitors to slow down a fan is possible and can be more efficient, since they drop voltage without wasting energy as heat. But it’s also much more complicated in practice. You need to use the correct type of capacitor — it must be non-polarized and AC-rated (like a motor run or X2 capacitor). If you accidentally use a regular electrolytic or DC capacitor, it can overheat or even explode when exposed to AC power. Even with the right kind of capacitor, choosing the right value is tricky — too small and nothing happens, too large and the fan might stall, hum, or overheat. And not all fans respond well to capacitive dropping, depending on the motor type. That’s why I stuck with the light bulb method — it’s simple, adjustable, safe, and easy to understand, especially for DIYers without electrical engineering backgrounds. You can see and feel what's going on, and the parts are cheap and easy to find.
