INXS in 1997 about their legacy | Interview | TMF
INXS (pronounced "in excess") was a globally successful Australian rock band formed in Sydney in 1977. The classic lineup included Michael Hutchence (vocals), Andrew Farriss (keyboards/guitar), Tim Farriss, Jon Farriss, Garry Gary Beers, and Kirk Pengilly. The band became known for their energetic blend of new wave, funk, and rock, fronted by Hutchence's charismatic stage presence and sensual vocals. INXS achieved international fame in the 1980s and early 1990s with albums like Shabooh Shoobah, Listen Like Thieves, and especially Kick (1987), which spawned global hits such as “Need You Tonight,” “New Sensation,” “Devil Inside,” and “Never Tear Us Apart.” Their sound combined stylish pop-rock with groove-heavy rhythms and anthemic choruses. The sudden death of Michael Hutchence in 1997 marked a turning point for the band. INXS continued performing with various lead singers but never recaptured the peak of their earlier success. Despite this, their legacy endures through timeless hits and their lasting influence on rock and pop music worldwide. Watch more TMF videos ► https://bit.ly/MoreTMF Join us.
