Slot Car Catching Air: Building a Crash Wall | Track Defence

Every racing circuit has that one corner... The one that sends cars flying. On the Erewhon Circuit, that corner is La Brèche. After one too many airborne slot cars, it was time to start building a proper defence system. In this episode of Track Defence, I design and build a realistic crash wall to contain wayward slot cars without ruining the view of the racing. From shaping the wall out of MDF to painting realistic concrete, weathering it, adding impact-absorbing foam and finishing it with authentic motorsport branding, every detail is designed with both realism and function in mind. I'll also share the design decisions behind the build, workshop tips I've learned along the way, and a few simple techniques you can use on your own slot car layout.
