The house feels incredibly quiet today. The very day after my husband left for his deployment to Kuwait, I decided to keep my mind and hands busy by tackling a major project completely on my own: transforming our open lawn into my dream garden with a DIY wooden trellis fence. [Main Body - Story & Intentional Detail] When you're used to having your partner around, the day after a departure is always the hardest. Instead of sitting with the sadness, I wanted to pour my energy into creating a beautiful, peaceful space for myself and the kids. We didn’t have a proper front fence, so I bought these expandable wooden lattice panels and decided to install them myself to give our garden some structure, privacy, and charm. It’s hard work doing it solo, but seeing the garden slowly transform into a sanctuary makes the quiet days a little easier to handle.
