Tesla Model Y Around thirty grand, that's what Elon Musk promised years ago, was the price of a basic Tesla. That hasn't quite materialized yet. But this Tesla Model Y Standard is now just under €40,000, and the Standard version of the Model 3 costs 'only' €36,990. I drove the Y Standard for a few days and concluded that, despite all the missing features, this Tesla is quite manageable. It's not the most visually appealing, but features like (optional) Autopilot have remained, as have its efficiency, the ability to charge from the Tesla network, and the over 500-kilometer range.
