Su-27 Flanker is Here To Ruin Your Day

Su-27 in War Thunder was my last jet from major "Air Superiority". Honestly I didn't expect that I'd enjoy it that much. Flight performance is pretty complicated. On one hand the jet feels completely fine and responsive, but on the other - complete opposite. It doesn't help that Flight Instructor right now is coded to allow pretty strange maneuvers at low speeds. If Su-27 goes below 500 km/h instructor has a strong tendency to overcorrect in yaw axis. This results in Flanker bleeding all of the remaining speed and in high probability of losing a DF. To minimise this happening to you I recommend watching your airspeed much closer and minimising long presses on flight inputs on keyboard. Overall I would say that flight performance is acceptable at current stage if you can deal with Flight Instructor. Weaponry is THE best in the game right now. 10 missiles. Ability to equip 4 R-73s and 6 R-27ERs with ability to replace 2 of them with 27ET or R-73s. HMS paired with R-73s does makes life so much easier in current meta. I've rarely used my gun just because missiles usually did all the work even in close quarters. Of course compared to F-15 or JAS39 Su-29 has fewer CM available. It does limit the survivability of the plane in a long run, but games at top tier don't usually last that long in my experience. Either the enemy team evaporates in 3 minutes, or I'm left alone against 6 opponents.
