Where should your weight be during Crossovers on ice?

"Where should your weight be on the blade during forwards crossovers" The answer is often disputed among different figure skating coaches, so in it, I take a look at where I place my weight during this move. Keep in mind that I have been skating for 28 years at this point, and as you can see in the video I find it really hard to skate forwards on the balls of my feet. I would compare it to trying to surf when you press the front of the board down towards the water when you catch a wave. Think about how a speed boat travels through water too? It doesn't have the front pointing down towards the water! As a general rule on ice when skating on the ice, I like to tell people to remember that when skating forwards you are many working with the back half of the blade and when skating backwards you are working with the front half of the blade. There are exceptions to this rule, of course, some of which are covered in this video. However, this as a general rule is a safe way to position yourself .
