Triumph 1971 Bobbers by Bruce and Jay - Bike Shed London 2019
When Bruce and Jay submitted their Triumph bobbers to Shed Row for Bike Shed London 2019, we jumped at exhibiting these fine 'sibling' bikes. Bruce initially took a 1971 Triumph Bonneville T120R, widely regarded as the least desirable Bonneville, so had no qualms in giving it the chop. He then set about creating somewhat of a bobber/cafe racer styling with clip ons and a proper custom frame jig built hard-tail amongst a whole host of other nice details. The 'brother' bike came about when Bruce's mate Jay liked it so much that he wanted one. So they set about making another, this time to a 1971 TR6R Tiger. They took learnings from the first iteration and tweaking them a little, and also converting the engine to Bonneville spec with a new cylinder head to allow for twin carb setup rather than single and extending the tail an extra 2 inches. Watch the full video to see the bikes in more detail as Bruce talks you though what went into the builds.
