¡Así fue el PRIMER papel estelar de Victoria Ruffo 1 año antes de LA FIERA: Quiéreme Siempre (1981)
A spoiled daughter... That was Victoria Ruffo’s first leading role in the soap opera *Quiéreme Siempre*, produced by Televisa in 1981—a year before *La fiera*, a massive hit that cemented Ruffo’s status as the true queen of Mexican soap operas in the 1990s and 2000s. True fame first came to the renowned “queen of telenovelas,” Victoria Ruffo*, in 1982, when she played the lead role in *La fiera*; however, the actress’s television career began two years earlier, in 1980, when she landed guest roles in the telenovelas *Conflictos de un médico and Al rojo vivo In 1981, Ernesto Alonso decided to give Vicky one of the key roles in his new telenovela *Quiéreme Siempre*, where she played the role of the spoiled daughter, Julia, who had been raised since childhood in the family of Alberto (Juan Luis Galiardo) and Giuliana (Úrsula Pratz). Unbeknownst to her, Julia is actually the daughter of the protagonist, Ana María, played by *Jacqueline Andere*, who conceived her with Alberto, her first and only love. But the evil Isabel (Nubia Martí) stole the baby from Ana María and gave it to Alberto, who had decided to marry Juliana, another villain in this soap opera. In short, as always, this is an intricate, mystery-filled story spanning 195 episodes, in the purest Ernesto Alonso style. What’s most interesting is that the renowned heartthrob of the ’90s, *Eduardo Yáñez*, also made his debut in this same telenovela: the role of Carlos, the love interest of Julia—Ruffo’s character—was his first major television role. Before that, he had only appeared in El hogar que yo robé*—a telenovela from that same year starring *Angélica María as twins—where he played a small role as a waiter. The scene of Julia’s first encounter with Carlos—Victoria Ruffo and Eduardo Yáñez, who would later become the king and queen of screens across Latin America—can be seen at the end of this episode, a compilation of three episodes halfway through *Quéreme siempre*.
