Perisher is the country's largest ski resort and the southern hemisphere's largest as well. Spread across seven different mountain peaks, the resort is divided into four distinct areas and boasts 47 lifts. With so much to explore, it may take a week or even a season to fully experience everything Perisher has to offer. Although we visited in late September 2022 towards the end of the season, the blue skies made for an exceptional trip to the Australian Snowy Mountains. Don't let the misconception that Australia doesn't have great ski resorts deter you from experiencing Perisher, as it truly is one of the best alpine experiences in the country.
