In this video, we travel to northern Spain to explore one of Europe's wildest and most fascinating landscapes: the Cantabrian Mountains. It's home to Clarita, a Cantabrian brown bear we were lucky enough to see in the wild. Because yes, we have seen bears! Just 25 years ago, there were fewer than 80 bears left on the Iberian Peninsula. Today, thanks to the efforts of many people, more than 350 bears inhabit these magical mountains. And on this campervan tour, we tell you how to see them, where to camp, what routes to take, and how to enjoy them without disturbing their environment. Our adventure begins in Babia, an incredible corner northwest of León, and from there we head to Somiedo Natural Park, the best place in Spain to spot brown bears. We explore viewpoints and trails like Laguna de las Verdes, and share key tips for searching for bears in a respectful and safe manner. With binoculars and a camera on our shoulders, we learn to interpret the landscape, to be patient... and yes, we meet Clarita! But also another unexpected visitor...
