General Andrew Pickens: The Fighting Elder (Lecture by Durant Ashmore)
The American Revolution was riddled with many battles, some large and some miniscule. But one constant throughout these multitude of conflicts were the strategies and efforts made by those who led their militias into war. Out of those leaders, there were few who matched the mind and renown of one man in particular. A man who led almost every battle he participated in towards victory. A man who established many a treaty and created a tentative peace with local native tribes. A man who was not only a congressman, but one of the members of the House of Representatives for South Carolina. Join us along with Durant Ashmore as he continues his Revolutionary War Lecture series as we discover the story behind the "Fighting Elder", General Andrew Pickens.
