One of the vehicles the National Guard uses to carry out its surveillance and crime-fighting duties is the Alpine Armoring Pit Bull VX 4x4 Armored Tactical Vehicle. This American-made vehicle, mounted on a Ford F-550 XL truck chassis, is equipped with mechanics suited to its work. Its engine is powerful: a 6.7-liter turbodiesel V8 with 400 horsepower provides smooth movement and a speed of up to 80 km/h (50 mph) thanks to a six-speed automatic transmission. For its work, the Pit-Bull VX has been given B6+ armor, with multiple protections on the windows and body to prevent bullet impacts, fuel tank protection, protection against mines and grenades, pillar reinforcements, and spectacular 20" run-flat bulletproof wheels. It has five entrances (four side doors and one rear). It also has a roof hatch and a turret for a shooter. It has four gun ports on each side and one rear port for firing from inside. This Pit-Bull VX is fully equipped for tactical and security personnel. From basic emergency lighting to a complete dual air conditioning system for the front and rear cabins, which can accommodate up to 10 soldiers (2+8). It also has an extraction and ventilation system, double-wall insulation, the option of adding a surveillance turret (with machine gun) in the upper escape hatch, a fire extinguisher, and a first aid kit.
