Over 100 hectares of agricultural land in the village of Pervomaisc and the town of Căinari, Căușeni district, were flooded on Sunday afternoon after torrents overflowed the Botna riverbed. Several houses were also in danger. Farmers, who have suffered losses of thousands of lei, say that there was moderate rain in the village, but the torrents that flooded the fields came from the direction of the villages of Puhoi and Cărbuna in Ialoveni district. People are asking for state help to clean and unclog the Botna river.
