When Commander CODY Committed His First WAR CRIME - Star Wars [CANON]
As General Grievous and his separatist forces started to expand their reach far out into republic territory, they began to strike fear into the hearts of Republic citizens. In order to stop this, the Jedi council dispatched Obi-Wan Kenobi and Mace Windu along with their clone troopers to destroy a deep space shipyard, where separatist ships were being repaired. While on the mission, Mace Windu began to lose ground… and Ordered Commander Cody to commit his first war crime. So, lets find out how this happened, and why it turned the battle in favour of the republic. So the story begins aboard the Tambor Deep space centre, where Obi-Wan Kenobi and Mace Windu have been deployed to lead a small clone force in a daring raid on the separatist repair station inside. Unfortunately however, things are really not going to plan. As soon as the group land inside the station, Obi-Wan, Mace Windu, Commander Cody and Commander Ponds are faced with a flurry of blaster fire from the droid forces who are protecting the facility. As the group are locked in an intense standoff with the battle dorids, Obi-Wan is extremely unhappy with the Republic intelligence that they were given, which supposedly told them that there would only be minimal resistance. Commander Cody responds by agreeing with his general, and also adding that he didn’t even have time to put his helmet on before the droid forces ambushed them. Mace Windu also adds that their forces need to breach the security complex immediately, before asking if Commander Ponds has any idea on how they might do this. Commander Ponds tells his general that he has very many ideas, but the one he’s about to demonstrate is the simplest. Moments are he says this, he fires his weapon, sending a massive red fireball blasting through the entire area, and leaving Obi-Wan deeply worried. Obi-Wan asks Cody what exactly that was… but Cody himself has no idea, he thought it was Obi-Wan’s doing because it had a Jedi-Ring to it. Obviously however it Was commander Ponds, who tells Mace Windu that he just unloaded high power missiles rounds, which he believes are a Clone’s Best friend. Windu however Cautions his commander,e saying “if only enthusiasm alone could break laminasteel, Ponds!’. Following this, Windu inspects the damage done by his commander and is impressed with how effective it was at killing all of the droids, but is also disappointed that the missile didn’t even scratch the security complex… On top of this, Mace Windu can’t sense a shatterpoint anywhere in the area, meaning for now… they aren’t going anywhere. And tell me down below if you’ve read the awesome Shatterpoint book. Soon after this, Cody orders sergeant swift to take his boys to crack open the security door, and Swift tells him that a small brace of thermal detonators should do the trick. Obi-Wan however tells his commander that a frontal attack is probably not the wisest choice, the housing on the door is a blast proof, geonosian design. Obi-Wan knows that the geonosians have incredible technical skill and are renowned for their absolutely ruthlessness. Cody stands firm and tells Obi-Wan “Don’t worry general, the seppies won’t know what hit them!”. Very soon after this, Sergeant swift tells his men “You heard the commander!” before ordering his walkers to move out, ready to attack the blast door. Waiting inside the chamber is the geonosian known as Gorgol the Handy… who tells his small team of B-1 battle droids that he’s crushed more dangerous opponents rolling over in his sleep. As he says this, one of his B-1 battle droid units chimes in and says “sir, communications are standing by. Shall I call for reinforcements”. Grogol however is absolutely disgusted by his droid’s suggestion, telling the B-1 unit arrogantly that they won’t be needing any backup. Following this, Gorgol arms all of the weapons turrets in the area, ready to fire upon the Clone Troopers, which leads brave Clones to call out to their sergeant and warn him that these weapons are literally rising from the floor in every direction. Sergeant swift however remains brave in the face of grave danger, ordering his men to power forward and not slow down for any reason whatsoever, until they reach the bunker.
