Paul Carberry times it right as HARCHIBALD wins the 2004 Christmas Hurdle at Kempton

Harchibald gets one over Rooster Booster in the 2004 Stan James Christmas Hurdle at Kempton. The 8-11 favourite followed up his facile victory in the ‘Fighting Fifth’ Hurdle as he cut down the popular grey to score by a length and a half under Paul Carberry. Richard Johnson and his mount were 25 lengths clear at one stage down the back straight, but the leader began to tire in the closing stages and was picked off by Carberry on the Irish raider in the closing stages.
