As we continue through the Jewish Quarter, you’ll see a unique mix of ancient history and modern life. The area has existed for thousands of years and was carefully restored following the events of 1948 and the reunification of Jerusalem in 1967. Along the route, we pass narrow stone streets, historic buildings, open squares, and views that connect the ancient city to modern Jerusalem outside the walls. The walk finishes near Jaffa Gate — one of the main historic entrances to the Old City, built during the Ottoman period in the 16th century. For centuries, this gate connected Jerusalem to the port city of Jaffa and the wider world beyond.
