How Farmer Manzura Asadova Creates Job Opportunities for Women and Girls in Chashmasor Village

Manzura Asadova is a farmer and entrepreneur from Chashmasor village near Kulob, Khatlon region. She runs a 3.5-hectare vineyard with around 100 grape seedlings and produces about 50–65 tonnes of grapes each season. Through her business, she provides seasonal work for 45–55 women from her community, supporting income generation and contributing to rural livelihoods. With support from the Aid for Trade in Central Asia project, funded by Finland, she received training in fruit drying, post-harvest equipment, and a vehicle to help transport her products to wider markets. This has helped her improve product handling and expand her sales beyond the local area. When women are economically empowered, they are better able to invest in their families, strengthen their communities, and contribute to more inclusive local development.
