Redesigning a city street.
Ian Hingley from Urban Movement describes the redesign and the consequent ongoing physical improvements to Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow. Ian is Co-Founder + Principal Landscape Architect with Urban Movement. He has worked in many of the UK’s towns and cities on a wide range of projects including: streets; squares; civic spaces; public parks; residential new build and refurbishment; education; health care and play. He is an examiner on the Landscape Institute’s Pathway to Chartership programme and a member of Kingston University’s Professional Review Group. He also contributes occasionally to the Landscape Institute’s and Urban Design Group’s journals. Ian has taught at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and regularly contributes to Transport for London and Urban Design London training programmes. He runs an annual guided public realm tour for Open House London.
