Intenté salir a pescar con cubanos… y me lo prohibieron

🇨🇺 Today I arrived in Puerto Esperanza, a less touristy fishing village in Cuba, to conclude my adventure in this country. I had come with the idea of spending a day with local fishermen, but I found myself faced with a reality I hadn't expected: due to regulations, tourists cannot go fishing on an artisanal fishing boat alongside a Cuban. Something so simple becomes impossible. 🎥 So I opted for something equally valuable: experiencing the town from within. I walked through the port among children jumping into the water, talked with neighbors, saw them fishing for mojarras and crabs, got a haircut at a street barber for €2, walked through streets with closed movie theaters, fenced parks, and constant power outages. All amid laughter, hospitality, and deep conversations with people who, despite the scarcity, never lose their smiles. 💬 In Havana, I felt the Cuba of survival. Here, in the countryside and on the coast, I discovered another side: a humane, friendly, and generous Cuba. I leave with respect for a people who endure in the face of hardship, and with sadness for what they experience day to day: power outages, miserable wages, and unmet basic needs. 🔥 This isn't a tourist video. It's an honest portrait of what it means to live in a place where life is hard, but humanity saves everything. 🔔 Subscribe if you want to see more unfiltered realities like this one.
