■Program Overview This course is a six-part special lecture series by Professor Yasunori Nomura, Visiting Professor at ZEN University. In the first installment, we will explore classical physics, the concepts of differential and integral calculus, and physics up to the 19th century. ■Instructor Profile Yasunori Nomura Completed his doctoral program at the Graduate School of Science, University of Tokyo in 2000, and was a Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Research Fellow during his studies. From 2000 to 2002, he was a Miller Research Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley, and from 2002 to 2003, he was an Associate Scientist at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. Since July 2003, he has been a Professor of Physics at the University of California, Berkeley, a Professor of Comprehensive Physics since 2012, and has served as Director of the Berkeley Rheinweber Institute for Theoretical Physics since 2015. His awards include the U.S. Department of Energy Outstanding Young Scientist Award (2004), Alfred Sloan Fellowship (2005), Hermann Fellowship (2005), Simons Fellowship in Theoretical Physics (2012), and American Physical Society Fellowship (2017). His books include Introduction to Multiverse Cosmology (Seikaisha), Why Does the Universe Exist? A First Step into Modern Cosmology (Kodansha Bluebacks), Intensive Lectures on Multiverse Theory (Fusosha), Why Does Gravity Exist? A Super-Beginner's Guide to Physics to Increase the "Resolution" of the World (Magazine House), and 95% of the Universe: An Introduction to the Universe to Unraveling Unsolved "Mysteries" (SB Shinsho). ■Assistant Introduction Yuki Miyoshi Currently enrolled in graduate school at International Christian University. His major is mathematics (specializing in non-commutative differential geometry). He is a member of the comedy duo "Ramanujan" and belongs to Watanabe Entertainment. He has reached the finals of the Hamonep competition four times and is currently active as part of the a cappella group "8Law." "My personal motivation for mathematical research lies in physics. When I studied the theory of relativity, I was struck by its elegance.
