Apple Podcasts: https://bit.ly/tony-parsons-yt-to-apple On September 29, 2017, 63-year-old grandfather and Navy veteran Tony Parsons set out on a 104-mile overnight charity bike ride through the Scottish Highlands. He never came home. For nearly three years, his family had no answers. Extensive searches across the remote terrain along the A82 turned up almost nothing. Then a forensic pathologist named Dr. Caroline Muirhead came forward with a confession from her new boyfriend, Alexander "Sandy" McKellar, and everything changed. What Sandy and his twin brother Robert did that night, and the lengths they went to in order to cover it up, is one of the most chilling true crime stories to come out of Scotland in recent years. This case inspired the Netflix documentary Should I Marry a Murderer?, premiering April 29th, and the full story is even more disturbing than the documentary shows. We are breaking it all down in today's episode. 00:00 Introduction 02:00 Tony Parsons: Who He Was 04:00 The Family Realizes Something Is Wrong 06:00 The Search Begins 08:00 An Anonymous Letter and the McKellar Brothers 10:00 Three Years Without Answers 12:00 Caroline Muirhead Receives a Confession 14:00 What Really Happened on the A82 16:00 The Cover-Up on the Estate 18:00 How the Truth Stayed Hidden for Years 20:00 Caroline Leaves a Clue for Police 22:00 The Arrests and the Investigation Shifts 24:00 Excavating the Estate 26:00 Tony's Remains Are Recovered 28:00 The Family Finally Brings Tony Home 30:00 The Plea Deal and Sentencing 32:00 The Family's Fight for Justice 34:00 Caroline's Life After the Trial 36:00 Final Thoughts Subscribe for new true crime episodes every week.
