Airbus A380 Aborts Takeoff After Engine Failure

Have you ever wondered what would happen if your plane had a problem as it accelerated down the runway? We found out the hard way on a flight from Paris, France (CDG) to Washington DC, USA (IAD) on July 15, 2015. Air France flight AF 054 was scheduled for takeoff at 1:45 PM on July 15, 2015. After delays on the tarmac, the Airbus A380 eventually reached the runway for takeoff around 2:05 PM. However, as it accelerated down the runway, engine #1 failed. The pilot raised the spoilers and slammed on the brakes, bringing the flight to a screeching halt. The video has been left intentionally shaky so you can see how the stop felt.
