Parkinson, nuova terapia migliora il controllo dei sintomi

For the first time in Italy, a new therapy for patients with Parkinson's disease is available at the Parkinson's and Parkinsonism Center of the ASST Gaetano Pini-CTO in Milan. The treatment consists of a continuous jejunal infusion of levodopa, a drug commonly used to treat Parkinson's disease, in combination with carbidopa and entacapone. Dr. Giulia Lazzeri, head of infusion therapies at the Parkinson's and Parkinsonism Center, explained the mechanisms of the treatment during an interview with Casa Italia, broadcast on Rai Italia, the daily program that the public service dedicates primarily to Italians living and working abroad.
