Surviving Extreme Cold on 58 Acres Hot Tent Winter Camping

I headed out onto 58 acres for a hot tent camping trip in very cold temperatures, using this trip to cook meals and fully test my winter camping gear. For heat, I ran the Green Stove pellet stove, and for shelter I used the OneTigris Coco hot tent. Even in freezing conditions, this setup kept the tent warm and comfortable through the night. My sleep system included a 0° sleeping bag paired with a Sea to Summit Ether Light XT Extreme (XR) sleeping pad, along with other cold-weather gear to stay insulated from the ground and retain heat. This wasn’t a backyard test — it was open land, real winter conditions, and gear being put to work. Between cooking, dialing in my setup, and enjoying the quiet, I truly had a wonderful time on this winter camping trip.
