Inípi
From the album Bon Odori by Bob Familiar The Inípi is the Lakota rite of purification, also known as the sweat lodge ceremony, which translates to "to live again." This ceremony serves as a basic purification ritual for the Sioux and many other Native American cultures. It involves participants sitting in a dome-shaped lodge made of willow poles and a canvas or hide cover, representing the womb of Mother Earth, while heated rocks create steam and prayers are offered.
