The Power of Music Education: Teachers, Mentors & Students Changing Lives Through Music

What happens when students have consistent access to music education during the school day? In this special Adopt the Arts feature, we hear directly from the educators, artists, and advocates making music education possible for thousands of elementary school students across Los Angeles. For more than a decade, Adopt the Arts has partnered with schools to provide high-quality, in-school music education. Featured in this video is Molly Shelby, Adopt the Arts' dedicated music teacher at Rosewood Avenue Elementary School, who reflects on her ten-year journey helping students discover confidence, creativity, and self-expression through music. We also meet Ronald Goodman, music teacher at Parmelee Avenue Elementary School, whose position is funded through our valued partners at Let Music Fill My World, demonstrating the power of collaboration in expanding access to arts education. The video also highlights Adopt the Arts' involvement in the Music Impact Coalition, a collective effort to strengthen and expand music education opportunities for students nationwide.
