EPS 6. Un autre regard sur le vélo, CAD(R)E MEDIA PROJECT 3/3

Third and final episode of our project with CADE Media. This time, it's really happening: the bikes are assembled, tuned, and ready to ride. And before they head to England to join the CADE team, we wanted to take them out one last time on our roads around Nice. We headed to the heights of Mont Boron for a first real field test. The idea was simple: ride the exact same segment with each of the four bikes, in conditions as similar as possible. A route of approximately 6 km with 230 m of elevation gain, repeated twice with each bike, to compare the feel without leaving too much to chance. Same geometry, same build, same wheels, same tires, same components. Only one real difference: the frame material. Aluminum, carbon, steel, and titanium. Four ways of building a bike around the same concept. Since Lucie and Robin are almost the same height and have very similar saddle heights, they were able to ride all four bikes and share their immediate impressions. Not a scientific verdict, not a definitive ranking, but honest impressions, right after the ride, with the surprises, the confirmations, and sometimes the little contradictions that are also part of cycling. Because that's pretty much the whole point of this project. You can weigh, measure, compare prices, tubing, materials, components. And you should. But after a while, a bike is never entirely defined by a spec sheet. The best bike is also the one you want to ride as often as possible. The one that speaks to you, sometimes for objective reasons, sometimes for much less rational ones. Now, the bikes are off to CADE, and we're obviously eagerly awaiting their video. It will probably be the most anticipated episode of the project, the one where the four bikes will be discovered and tested from their own perspective, their own sensations, and their own unique way of telling the story of cycling. Then, normally, the bikes will return to the Rifugio so we can continue riding them, but also so you can try them out. Well… provided CADE agrees to give them back to us. Because we have a feeling they're already a little too fond of them. Anyway, suspense… Chapters: 00:00 - Intro, the bikes are finally ready. Presentation of the final builds, the weight of each bike, the components used, and a brief recap of the four materials. 13:00 - First pedal strokes, first impressions. Lucie and Robin take the four bikes for a spin on the slopes of Mont Boron and share their immediate impressions after each test ride. 25:36 - The big comparison. A complete debrief on the four bikes: sensations, perceived differences, surprises, confirmations, limitations of the exercise, and of course, the question of price. 42:41 - The conclusion of this adventure. Back at the Rifugio to take stock of the whole project: why we embarked on this, what we've learned, your initial feedback, and what's next. @Cade_Media #massacan #cademedia
