THE LAST GCR Thomas the Tank Engine Weekend. 29th-31st August 2009

Another outing with the Soar Valley Model Railway Club's Interactive Thomas & Friends Layout to Quorn Station on the Great Central Railway. This time, everything was based at Quorn with Thomas and Diesel running shuttles round the yard, punch and judy, our layout and the fair. The mainline trains running ran every hour and met at Quorn Station. These were haulled by: -ex.LMS 8F No.48305 (Donald/Douglas) -GNR N2 No.1744 (Norman the N2 from Kings +) (Saturday Only) -ex.LMS Fairburn Tank No.42085 (Sunday Only) PLEASE NOTE: Due to unfair and strict rules and regulations made by the new Thomas the Tank Engine Company this could be the last Thomas event held on the GCR. The next Thomas event would be decided on the profit from this one.
