A classical guitarist who's regarded as the "most Spanish Korean" - Jang Dae-kun! classical guitarist who has captivated the people of Spain Classical guitarist Jang Dae-kun, who won the Luys Milan International Guitar Competition in 2003, is now one of the judges at the competition! He studied under Jose Tomas and Oscar Ghiglia, the famous proteges of the master classical guitarist Andre Segovia, and received praise from the people of Spain as the 'most Spanish Korean.' He gained further recognition when he was invited to the perform the Cocierto de Aranjuez at a special event held to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the passing of Joaquin Rodrigo, one of the greatest musicians that Spain produced. A teenage boy who fell in love with the guitar Jang Dae-kun encountered what was to become his greatest love in life - the classical guitar - through his older brother. From then on, he traveled across the country to attend all the classical guitar performances, and that's when he noticed something common about all the concert pamphlets. It was that it contained the names of Spanish guitarists and cities, and he boldly decided to study in Spain at a tender age of 17. Guiding the junior guitarists into the right direction! Jang Dae-kun studied under the masters of the classical guitar. He now wants to guide the junior guitarists based on his own experience as well as the teachings of his mentors. He says to his juniors, "Competitions seem fantastic on the outside, but they can be awful." Although he admits that musicians need to compete at international competitions to enter the professional stage, he advises the junior musicians not to destroy their individuality for the sake of pleasing the judges. He added that all musicians need to create their own, distinct style of music in order to distinguish themselves from the rest. '콩쿠르는 얼핏 근사해 보이지만 고약한 열매다!' 콩쿠르는 프로의 세계로 들어오게 되는 길이기는 하지만 심사위원을 만족시키기 위해 개성을 죽여야만 하기 때문에콩쿠르에 목숨을 걸지 말라고...대신 자기만의 음악 세계를 고민하라고 덧붙였다.
