Last year has been quite incredible when it comes to the discoveries that were made in the field of Human evolution, discovered fossils, new genetic studies, footprints and other archaeological finds. Now that I have shifted the focus of the channel to human evolution for the time being I thought it would be nice to go over the 5 most notable discoveries that were made in the past year. And there’s a big chance I’ll continue to make this video again and again in the upcoming years as we discover more about humanity’s ancient past. So let’s start with the discovery of the world’s oldest representational of figurative art, which is a cave painting in Indonesia. Found in the Leang Tedongnge cave was a cave painting of a Sulawesi warty pig, and by the use of Uranium series dating the researchers discovered that the cave painting was created at least 45,500 years ago. A human in France living around 18,000 years ago decided to cut off the top art of a conch shell and then went on to trim the jagged edge until it was smooth. This is now seen as the world’s oldest wind instrument discovered up until this point in time.
