New State Budget and Southwest Florida
Last week, Governor Ron DeSantis signed the state's budget for the fiscal year that began July 1. As in past years, Gov. DeSantis was not shy about exercising his veto power. He cut more than $1.6 billion that had been approved by lawmakers, including more than $800 million in line-item vetoes.
