RTE took over the airwaves for an entire day of fundraising in 1990. Zig and Zag and Ian Dempsey raised lots of funds during the day on Dempsey's Den, but Zig and Zag continued as ZNN newscasters for the rest of the evening with Zag claiming to be wearing Linda Martin's Eurovision dress that she was about to se the next day.
