BASS LESSON: Cheb Khaled - El Baroud (Chaabi Groove)

Since uploading my bass cover of this song in July 2020 I have had numerous requests for TABs charts, tutorials etc. As I don't read music or TABs I decided a tutorial was going to be the way to go. So three and a half years and 30k views later, here it is! It's a long one but I have covered the whole song which essentially consists of 5 sections. I will call them A (main groove), B (ostinato), C, D, & E. These five sections form a cycle that is repeated in the following format: A-B-C-D-A-E. I have also divided the tutorial into the following chapters for convenient reference. 1. The Scale - 0:24 2. Section A - 2:19 (main groove) 3. Section B - 5:09 (ostinato) 4. Section C - 5:55 5. Section D - 9:08 6. Section E - 10:58 7. Full cycle 80 bpm - 14:59 8. Full cycle 100 bpm - 17:25 This is a typical Moroccan chaabi groove which is in 6/8 but with a strong accent on 4/4 at the same time. For this tutorial I use a 4 count on the metronome which should be heard as 1ana2ana3ana4ana.
