Agricultores cobram mudanças no ITR; vem aí novo IPVA?

In a public hearing at the Committee on Economic Affairs (CAE), representatives of the agricultural sector argued that a change in the calculation of the Rural Land Tax (ITR) could bring more legal certainty to rural producers. The proposal that provides for this measure is authored by Senator Jayme Campos (União-MT) and is being reported on by Senator Jaime Bagattoli (PL-RO) in the CAE. The Constitution and Justice Committee (CCJ) of the Chamber of Deputies approved the admissibility of a proposed amendment to the Constitution (PEC) that alters the way the Tax on Motor Vehicle Ownership (IPVA) is calculated. The measure provides that the tax will be calculated based on the weight of the vehicle, replacing the current market value criterion, in addition to limiting the charge to 1% of the sale price of the car and allowing states to grant discounts for less polluting vehicles.
