Any type of hot work, including welding, cutting, brazing, and soldering bring a potential for fire danger. Sparks from welding and other hot work can ignite any cardboard, paper or wood near the work site. Since OSHA requires employers to implement a hot work permit process when working around these flammables, we have created this training video to walk your staff through the hot work permitting process. This is also a great training tool for your PAI or "Permit Authorizing Individual" as they need to know this information. The training also discusses hot work inside of confined spaces and how to handle that.
