Type 3 ventilation simultaneously exchanges air and heat, resulting in significant energy loss. WELLNEST HOME uses a ductless ventilation system, a type 1 ventilation system. Unlike ducted ventilation systems, ductless ventilation systems offer efficient heat exchange ventilation while reducing maintenance and electricity costs. WELLNEST HOME representative Hironori Hayata explains the features of ductless ventilation systems in detail in this video. Ventilation systems are also explained in detail in the "Home Building Lab" section of the WELLNEST HOME website. Reading the video along with the article will provide a deeper understanding. ■Articles on Ventilation Systems Do 24-Hour Ventilation Systems Have Only Disadvantages? Energy-Saving, Healthy Homes with Heat Exchange Ventilation https://wellnesthome.jp/989/ ▼Text (Transcript) Ventilation is actually quite diverse and comes in many varieties, so let's start with a general introduction. First, there are two types: Type 1 and Type 3 ventilation. The type 3 ventilation system is commonly known, which first expels polluted air from the bathroom, toilet, and bathtub. When the air is discharged, a hole is made in the exterior wall, and the amount of air discharged is the same as the amount coming in, so this is basically called a Type 3 ventilation system. However, its weakness is that when it's hot outside, hot air comes in, and when it's cold outside, cold air comes in, which results in a significant loss of energy. In contrast, a Type 1 ventilation system uses ducts to control both the inflow and outflow of air, and by filtering the warm and cold air, Type 1 ventilation systems aim to eliminate heat loss. However, its weakness is that when there is humidity in the room or hot, sticky humidity from outside comes in, condensation can form inside the duct, making it feel humid, leading to mold growth and dust. Over the long term, this means you'll have to consider replacing or cleaning the duct, which is a disadvantage. That's why our company uses a ductless, replaceable ventilation system. If you have one of these installed on one wall, think of it as having another installed on the diagonal wall. First, imagine hot air flowing in from one side for 70 seconds. It continues to flow in this way for 70 seconds. Then, the same amount of air that flowed in is expelled from the opposite diagonal wall for 70 seconds. After 70 seconds, the system switches, and hot air flows in from the other side. The cool air inside is then expelled from the diagonal side. Inside, there is a filter, which is cleaned from time to time. And this is a high-performance DC motor, an extremely fuel-efficient motor. And inside is a ceramic tube like this. This is made of ceramic and has a very large surface area. The cool 24°C air inside passes through here and is expelled outside over 70 seconds. This tube becomes very cold. After 70 seconds, the system switches, and hot 35°C air flows in from the outside. Ceramics have an excellent ability to store heat, so the temperature in the middle remains around 27°C, roughly half between 24°C and 35°C. So the air coming out here is 27°C, not 35°C. As more and more 35°C air comes in from outside, the 27°C range gradually becomes smaller, so by switching to 24°C air, the 27°C range is expanded. This is done in a well-balanced manner. And since it's ductless, there are no ducts, you can just wash it and dry it in good weather and use it right away. What's more, these DC motors are very fuel-efficient, each 3W. Since one house only needs about six, it comes to 18W. Since it's 18W, your daily electricity bill is around 40 to 30 yen. In this way, it cleans and exchanges the air, and also heats and cools the air. On the other hand, with a typical Type 1 ventilation system, you unfortunately have to take into account future maintenance costs such as replacing and cleaning the ducts. Unfortunately, major Japanese home builders are not very knowledgeable about ducts, and use ventilation systems that are very electricity-intensive. In ...
