This is how I experienced the **2026 FIFA World Cup in Mexico**: an entire month where the world fell in love with this country, and I got to witness it from the inside. Throughout the tournament I watched fans from South Korea, Japan, Norway, England and all over the world discover what makes Mexico so special—the same thing I've been falling in love with for the past 22 years. Along the way I ran into **Martín the Frenchman**, one of Mexico's best-known foreign creators, and **El Chevo**, the comedian who went viral after dressing up as **El Ángel de la Independencia**, Mexico City's most iconic monument. I even ended up on the other side of the microphone, appeared on national television, and witnessed Mexico break an attendance record that not even the World Cup Final could match. *FIFA organized the tournament.
