Qatar Airways Economy 777-300ER - JFK to Doha | 12-Hour Flight, 5+ Meals & FREE Starlink WiFi!
Join us on our first-ever family flight with Qatar Airways as we travel in economy class from New York (JFK) to Doha, Qatar on a Boeing 777-300ER! This 12-hour journey turned into one of the most memorable long-haul economy experiences we’ve ever had—packed with surprises, tips, and LOTS of food. We start our journey at JFK Airport, arriving 4 hours early to check in—only to find the Qatar Airways counters still closed. After waiting about 30 minutes, they opened, and we learned an important tip: Qatar Airways check-in counters open approximately 3.5 hours before international departures (not the 3 hours you’ll often see online). Definitely something to keep in mind for your next trip! At the gate, we experienced another important lesson—don’t wait until the last minute to show up. We thought we heard our name being called, likely for a passport check, which is common on international flights. Arriving early at the gate can save you from unnecessary stress. Boarding the aircraft was an exciting moment, especially walking past the famous Qsuite business class and extra legroom economy seats before reaching our section. We were seated in the middle 4-seat configuration (3-4-3 layout), perfect for families traveling together. We then give you a complete tour of the Qatar Airways 777-300ER economy seat, covering: • Seat width and pitch • Legroom (and a unique issue with slightly misaligned seat legs) • Tray table and storage pockets • Seatback entertainment system with movies, maps, kids games, and more Next, we dive into the in-flight experience, and this is where Qatar Airways really stood out. We were served the most food we’ve ever had on a flight: • Welcome drink & snack • Dinner • Mid-flight movie snacks • Sandwich • Breakfast • PLUS a cookie after meal service And if that wasn’t enough, there’s a self-serve snack station at the back of the plane whenever you get hungry! We also highlight small but thoughtful touches, like: • Refreshing towelette service at the start of the flight • A surprisingly clean lavatory at the back of the plane • A unique rose-scented spray in the bathroom that elevated the experience One of the biggest highlights? FREE onboard WiFi powered by Starlink, which was incredibly fast—we even ran a speed test during the flight! Finally, we wrap up the journey by being the last passengers to exit the aircraft, giving you a full look at just how massive the 777-300ER really is. If you’re considering flying Qatar Airways economy, especially on a long-haul route, this video gives you the complete, honest experience from check-in to landing.
