Jefferson, Texas! Drive with me in a Texas town!

Join me for an ultra high definition real time driving tour of Jefferson, Texas! Jefferson, Texas is located in East Texas and has a population of about 2,500 people. Jefferson was founded in 1841 and is known for its many historical markers in the town. Many of the historic houses in Jefferson now operate as a bed and breakfast, making Jefferson known as the Bed and Breakfast Capital of Texas. There are many historic buildings and tourist attractions in the town including the Gould Railroad Car and the Jefferson Carnegie Library which was constructed in 1907 with money donated by Andrew Carnegie. Jefferson was able to benefit from being an important port due to the natural formation of a log jam that kept the Red River at high enough water levels for significant amounts of commercial traffic coming in from the Mississippi River. After the Civil War the town was one of the largest in Texas, with a population rumored to be approaching 30,000 people. In 1873 the army corp of engineers cleared away the log jam, which then caused the river and Caddo Lake to drop their level to the extent that commercial traffic was no longer able to reach the town by boat. Here are my main cameras: • [GoPro Hero 13](https://amzn.to/4fobat4) • [GoPro Hero 13 Creator Edition] (https://amzn.to/3AqaW5t) This is a very durable camera. It withstands the elements and can go places other cameras can’t. There are many accessories available for GoPro cameras which makes the camera endlessly customizable and versatile. If you are intending to make vlogs or travel videos where you speak, you might prefer the creator edition which comes with more accessories. • [DJI Osmo Pocket 3](https://amzn.to/4fiXK1q) • [DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Creator Combo] (https://amzn.to/3YCoClM) This little handheld camera is very easy to pack because of its small size. It is not as rugged as the GoPro, but is easy to carry and make stable video. I use the creator combo version which includes an additional battery and a microphone that can be clipped to your shirt for improved audio which I like for filming walking tours. 🔋 Other useful tech: --------------------------------------------------- • [DJI OM 6](https://amzn.to/4hEfJRp) This device attaches to a smartphone to help record more stable video. • [GoPro Enduro Battery](https://amzn.to/4hK8Y0g) An extra battery for the GoPro. • [Anker USB-C Cable](https://amzn.to/4ek5jUh) A flexible and durable charging cable that charges quickly. • [Anker USB-C Power Bank](https://amzn.to/40FGsH2) These are great for recharging my phone or cameras while traveling, and are also useful for power outages. • [Anker MagGo Power Bank] (https://amzn.to/3ABUzTi) This battery connects directly to the back of iPhones that have MagSafe and can charge the phone without the use of a cable. • [Samsung Micro SD Card 256 GB](https://amzn.to/3O009BY) This memory card works on most small cameras, and can record for a long time. • [Samsung 2TB SSD Portable SSD](https://amzn.to/4fHJjna) I take this hard drive with me when I travel so that I can back up the footage that I record on my trip. It fits in one of the pockets inside my tech case, and holds a lot of footage. ✈️ Travel gear I like: --------------------------------------------------- • [Peak Design Travel Duffel](https://amzn.to/3O0uvEi) This durable bag fits easily into the overhead compartments on airplanes and the straps can be configured to be comfortably worn as a backpack, which is nice for long walks through an airport. • [Peak Design Tech Pouch Large](https://amzn.to/4ek03jq) • [Peak Design Tech Pouch Small] ( https://amzn.to/40HTfca) I have both sizes, and have used the larger one consistently for many years. They are incredibly durable, and nicely fit all of my camera gear. I like that I can fit a GoPro inside of the larger one, along with cables, SD Cards, a battery and a small hard drive. People traveling with less gear or less space in their bags might prefer just the smaller pouch. • [Wetcat Turkish Beach Towel] (https://amzn.to/3UJfWc0) This towel spreads out large, but packs up tiny and dries quickly. I have disliked every other pack towel I have ever used, but this one is made of cotton and feels soft and does not have a funny smell. • [Yeti Cooler](https://amzn.to/3YLM9AK ) Buying food when traveling gets expensive, so I try to pack as much food as I can. This cooler keeps things fresh for a long time. It also means that I can pick up local foods when I go places and bring them home with me.
