This transistor based overdrive is based on the Power Boost and Overdriver circuits of the 70s, heard famously by the likes of Gilmour, Jeff Beck, T-Rex and many more. Two versions of this clean boost with 2-band EQ were offered back in the day, 9V and 18V which drastically changes the headroom, tone and fuzzy character of this pedal when cranked. With the Blammo Voltage Booster you get all the original tones of both versions, thanks to the same BC184L transistors and an internal charge pump that allows 9/18V from a standard 9V adaptor. Other upgrades include silent true bypass switching, a pedalboard friendly footprint and most importantly, a master volume which really helps you dial in those uncompressed overdrive tones without the use of diode clipping or op-amps.
