From Tree to Handrail Posts for our Treehouse in the Woods! | Ep: 31

We are so excited to be starting off a new year and we're so happy you're all along for the ride! Squatters Heights and the Squatty Potty are so close to being complete! We spent the week between Christmas and New Years catching up on some much needed fun with the kids and family. We've been fishing a couple of times and took an afternoon to go ski/snowboard with the kids! It was a lot of fun (and later painful 😫😂) But CJ says "we just need to go more often and we won't be as sore." lol Good plan. In between hosting family, fishing and getting up to the Ridge, Ted and I were able to tackle a couple more things, bringing us one step closer to completing the treehouse. A few weeks back we built a staircase off the back... and a staircase needs a railing, so this week we started putting the railings up. We kept with the design of the treehouse and... naturally... did it the hard way by cutting, peeling, notching, burning and installing the posts. It probably would've been smart to do this BEFORE we went skiing because Ted did it with a severely injured thumb. He never ceases to amaze me by working through the pain. Huge thank you to ‪@WhiteDuckOutdoors‬ for sending us a porch addition to the treehouse as well! Definitely one of those things we didn't know we needed until we had it! It's going to help keep snow off the deck in the winter and allow for the massive front door to remain open during the summer rain showers! We have other plans for that porch addition, that's for a warmer time of year. We hope you all have had a wonderful start to the new year, and as always thanks for following along!
