La mia Proposta per Salvare i Videogiochi

We need to thoroughly identify the problems before protesting. Asking for a return to physical games is useless and anachronistic: digital is fine; the problem is how it's managed. Problem 1. We don't own the games we buy. The STOP KILLING VIDEOGAMES movement is already addressing this. I recommend you look into it further. The solution is: when I buy a digital game, it must be mine, even if the servers are shut down. A positive example of this is GOG on PC. Problem 2. All the discs we've purchased won't work on PS6. Solution: Sony should provide an external disc drive compatible with all PlayStations. You buy it once, and it's valid for all consoles. Problem 3. Used, Loans, and Refunds. Solutions: We need to be able to pass a digital game to another user via an option in the menu. This solves the problem of lending to a friend and would establish a digital used market. Furthermore, the PS Store lacks a truly mature refund policy, which we've had on PC for some time. Problem 4: If you only sell on the PS Store, you're eliminating competition. Competition is good for the market and especially for us consumers. If we go entirely digital, we should give other competing companies the opportunity to open their own digital stores for PlayStation games (as has always been the case on PC).
