‘Most disgraceful moment’: Fury as Democrats remain seated for Iryna’s grieving parents

Sky News host Rita Panahi claims the Democratic Party’s decision not to stand as US President Donald Trump honoured Iryna Zarutska in front of her parents was “the most disgraceful moment” of the State of the Union address. Iryna Zarutska, a 23-year-old refugee from Ukraine, was savagely murdered on August 22 by a 35-year-old homeless man. “The most disgraceful moment for me was when President Trump was talking about Iryna Zarutska, her parents were there, her grieving parents, and he paid tribute to her,” Ms Panahi said. “The Democrats couldn’t even stand for the grieving parents of this young woman. “How do they not stand for that? How do they not stand up for a grieving mother when the President is paying tribute to her daughter? “What political advantage is there in that?”
