Hadambu Monastery, a Romanian Athos and a universal light of holiness, rests on the earth between the hills, far from the noisy roads, far from the cities and the worldly bustle, somewhere suspended between heaven and earth. Its most precious treasure is the miracle-working icon of the Mother of God, to which thousands of weary pilgrims kneel and receive wonderful comfort and healing. Founded 362 years ago, Hadambu Monastery has always been subject to the erosion of time and the vicissitudes of history. It was reopened in 1990, when, by the entrustment of the Metropolitan of Moldova and Bukovina, the protosinghel Nicodim Gheorghiță was appointed as abbot.
