World's biggest braai fires up Pretoria
The World's Biggest Braai is firing up in Pretoria. Over 2 500 South Africans gathered at Loftus Stadium in a bid to break Japan's 2023 record, where more than 2 200 people braai at the same time. Over 420 custom-built braai stations lined the field, with each participant grilling a 200-gram piece of wors - that's nearly half a ton of meat sizzling on the coals. While it's a Guinness World Record attempt, in the true spirit of ubuntu, proceeds will be shared with communities in need on World Food Day through the Imbumba Foundation, ensuring support for hunger relief and food security initiatives.
