Ontario's Best Kept Secret: Manitoulin Island & Bridal Veil Falls

Everyone says Ontario can't compete with Banff, BC, or Alberta. So we packed up the car, picked up two friends, and drove 7 hours north to find out for ourselves. This is Episode 1 of Ontario's Hidden Gems 🍁 — a new series where we explore the parks, trails, and hidden corners of Ontario that most people (including us) never knew existed. First stop: Manitoulin Island — the largest freshwater island in the world, sitting quietly in Lake Huron with 108 lakes of its own. We spent our first day hiking the Cup and Saucer Trail — caves, a wooden staircase, a rope climb, and two lookout points that genuinely stopped us in our tracks. Then it was on to Bridal Veil Falls in Kagawong, where we just sat for a while and took it all in. This is just the start. Three days, two more locations, and one place in particular that we still can't quite believe is in Ontario.
