However, the small Spirit is 82 grams lighter (208 grams for the Spirit versus 290 grams for the thicker one). The small one is more convenient for delicate work and doesn't feel like a brick in your pocket. Dimensions are 107 x 35.5 x 13.8 mm versus 115 x 34.5 x 15.3 mm (thickness along the frame). Visually, I prefer the large Swisstool X; the small one looks awkward. So, as a man's toy, the larger one is better. However, the small Spirit feels more comfortable to the touch. People with larger hands should get the larger one. For real work, it's also better to get a larger one, but if you're not sure you'll need a tool, a smaller one will do. If you're carrying it in a backpack or bag, the weight and size don't matter. I also recommend getting one with a leather sheath, not a nylon one. The tool frame is 1 mm on the Spirit, 1.3 mm on the large. The cutting edge length is 60 mm on the Spirit, 65 mm on the large. The cutting edge length of the Spirit nippers is 6 mm on the Spirit, 7 mm on the large. The body (thickness over the linings) of the Spirit measures 106.6 x 35.5 x 13.8 mm. Weight: 208 g. The large one measures 115 x 35 x 15.5 mm. Weight: 290 g.
