Tilt-shift lenses for macro and close-up. Why the results so often disappoint - what can be done?
Lens tilt with a tilt/shift lens for macro and close-up photography often produces nowhere near the effect people hope to see. Tilt works very well, but why are the results such a disappointment to many. The amount of physical lens tilt does not directly match the tilt of the plane of focus. Whilst tilt can move the plane of focus a great deal beyond a few metres, the effect rapidly diminishes for close-up and macro photography.
